Pennsylvania man accused of drunk driving

A man believed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol has been arrested in York, according to local sources. Pennsylvania authorities arrested the man under suspicion of drunk driving after his vehicle reportedly crashed into a house. So far, it appears no court date has been set for this case.

The accident report states that a 28-year-old man was driving his vehicle in the vicinity of York on July 4 when the accident occurred. It appears the man lost control of his vehicle after passing multiple cars on the street. His car left the road and ran headlong into a brick house, occupied by two people at the time of the collision.

Thankfully, neither of those individuals was harmed in the crash. The man is believed to have been traveling some 80 mph in a 55 mph zone, which may have contributed to the accident. It is unclear whether a roadside sobriety test was conducted at the scene, but police arrested the man for DUI as well as attempting to elude police. It was not mentioned whether the man remains in police custody at this time.

Pennsylvania authorities will have to prove conclusively that the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident in order to secure a conviction on the charge of drunk driving. However, if a proper test was not conducted to determine the man’s blood alcohol level, or if the test was conducted at some point after the accident, this could influence the validity of the evidence presented to the court. The man’s defense representation will doubtless wish to peruse this evidence in advance of the court date.
