I'm Pennsylvania criminal defense attorney Robert Muir. Since 1991, I have been representing people in southwest Pennsylvania who are facing prosecution in criminal court for felony, misdemeanor, juvenile criminal offenses, and traffic offenses.

I have lived in this community my entire life, and I have worked in the local courts my entire legal career. I maintain positive working relationships with our legal community, and I have developed the the respect of court personnel, judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement.

I believe my long experience with the courts here provides a strong foundation for me as I protect my clients' rights. I can be an effective advocate for my clients in negotiations with prosecutors or in trial.

Contact my Johnstown, or Indiana, Pennsylvania law office to schedule a free consultation. I return calls promptly and return all e-mails within 24 hours. I will make jail visits.

An Honest Assessment, an Aggressive Defense

When you are facing criminal charges, you need the facts and a clear plan of action. As your criminal defense lawyer, you can expect me to tell you what you need to hear... to give you an honest, straightforward assessment of your situation and your defense options. I have two decades of trial experience to draw upon. I have probably handled a case much like yours.

I defend people who are facing any of a wide range of criminal charges in the District Magistrates Court and the Pennsylvania Courts of Common Pleas (state and county courts). I defend on misdemeanor and felony charges, and I defend both adults and juveniles. No case is too small or too large.

I defend people of all ages, from teens accused of possession of marijuana, shoplifting, or vandalism, to college students charged with underage drinking or other liquor violations, to business owners who had one too many drinks over lunch and got pulled over for DUI. Some of the more common criminal charges I defend individuals against prosecution of:

Drug crimes: possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (including prescription drugs), possession of drug paraphernalia, sale of drugs, drug manufacture, drug trafficking

Alcohol offenses: drunk driving (and driving under the influence of drugs), underage drinking, and other liquor violations around popular bars and restaurants where college students congregate, such as Culpeppers, Al Patti's, Coney Island, or Wolfendales

Traffic violations: including speeding tickets and citations for driving on a suspended or revoked license

Assault and domestic violence

Theft crimes, including shoplifting, bad checks, possession of stolen property, and auto theft

Sex crimes, including sexual assault and statutory rape

Did you know that if you have ever been charged with a crime, even if you were not convicted, that charge stays on your criminal record? In addition to criminal defense work, I assist clients seeking to have their criminal records cleared through expungement. Contact my law office to learn more about expungement and whether it is an option for you. Call toll-free 1-800-356-5798 to schedule a free consultation with me.
